Artist Gina Rohrsen was born in Germany in 1958. She studied painting and illustration from 1978 to 1984 and graduated as a Qualified Graphic Designer. From then on, Gina worked as a freelance artist. She had several solo exhibitions in Germany and participated in national and international art projects. In 2001, she founded the KünstlerinnenForum Münsterland, where she accomplished a couple of projects.
Inspired by several visits to Egypt, Gina enriched her work with objects and installations using the authentic materials of the country. "All this amazing history, the ancient sites, the rocks with prehistoric drawings and the fantastic light impressed me so much and led me to a new subject: Africa - the cradle of mankind", she said.
