Nargish Soma
Nargish Soma, a contemporary Bengali artist living in Rajshahi, Bangladesh, started painting at the age of 10. She studied and did her master degree at Rajshahi University. Presently, she is registered with a MPhil, a postgraduate research Masters and her subject of study is Child Art.
Nargish creates artworks that transmit messages of positive values, nourish the human brain, inspire and at the same time make people reflect upon their actions. Her concepts revolve around women drawing inspiration out of her inner-self. She likes to express her emotions through art and transmits powerful messages for the liberation of women in Bangladesh. Her technique is a very traditional and oriental technique, which she personalised by her own techniques; her art style is semi-abstract and expressionistic using acrylic paint on canvas. I
Nargish also write poems, short scripts and articles on the current problems in the Society. She makes conceptual designs for music videos and does art direction in short movies.
Nargish participated in many international exhibitions in America, Japan, Russia, Egypt, Bhutan, Morocco, the Netherlands and Italy.
